Visual Work

The following visual work explores digital technologies and image. The majority of the images were taken on my cellphone, uploaded to my computer, then digitally edited using pixel sorting and other glitch techniques. What this series explores is the burgoning duality of memory. Memory now exists as both a biological function of the human brain and also the digital function of the cellphone. Increasingly, the cellphone has become not just a device but an external organ allowing us to augment memory with notes, photographs, and video. What my work seeks to do is to bring light to this duality in memory by showing image (representetive of memory) in a state of superposition between the real and the digital.
